What XERF Does and Doesn't Treat
XERF and fat reduction treatments are often mistaken for one another, yet they work on entirely different tissue with entirely different results. Understanding the distinction ensures your treatment plan matches your goal precisely.
- XERF tightens skin. Radiofrequency energy remodels collagen within the dermis and SMAS fascia, firming and lifting tissue that has lost its structural support.
- XERF does not reduce fat. It has no effect on the adipose layer beneath the skin, regardless of intensity or number of sessions.
The two concerns are frequently mistaken for each other because both are addressed with non-surgical, walk-in-walk-out treatments. But excess volume and loose, lax skin are different problems requiring different solutions:

What makes XERF different from Thermage or Ultherapy?
Thermage uses a single frequency targeting mainly the deep dermis; Ultherapy uses ultrasound focused on the SMAS. XERF combines two RF frequencies simultaneously, reaching all tissue depths in one session. The result is more comprehensive remodelling than either device alone, without their associated discomfort or downtime.
Is XERF Laser painful?

How many sessions will I need?
